The great majority of the volume of logs which was imported beteen 2006 and 2009 is likely to have been pulpwood, given its location of importer and its import value per cubic metre.

China does not report the species from which the great majority of its very rapidly increasing sawnwood imports derive.   Locations of importer in Guangdong province account for the great majority of that sawnwood.  During the last few years, except in relation to Shenzhen, the unit import value of that sawnwood has tended to be within the range US$300-500 per cubic metre, indicating that it is unlikely to comprise rosewood.  Concerning Shenzhen, the range was roughly four times greater.
